FAQs

What does this service cost?

Our platform services are free. We take 0% commission on all tips.

You keep all of your tips, minus the transaction fees charged to us from Stripe and PayPal. Standard US rates are 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction for Stripe and 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction for PayPal. International transactions and currency conversions to USD may cost slightly more.

We make no money on these fees. We want to keep this service as accessible as possible to as many creators as possible.

How do you make money?

The only way we make money is if your tippers leave a completely optional tip to Pally.gg at checkout. We're taking a bet on the generosity of your audience to keep this service operational, so we greatly appreciate your help encouraging folks to leave us a tip.

What payment methods do you support?

We currently support tips in USD, which can be paid using a credit card or PayPal. With PayPal, tippers can choose to pay using their PayPal balance, a credit or debit card, or from their bank account.

How do payouts work?

We'll pay you in USD every Monday via PayPal, if your balance has reached a minimum of $10. PayPal charges a $0.25 flat fee on payouts to US based users, and a 2% fee with a $20 cap on payouts to users outside of the US.

What countries do you support?

We can pay out to the following countries supported by PayPal: Andorra; Argentina; Australia; Austria; Bahamas; Bahrain; Belgium; Bermuda; Botswana; Brazil; Bulgaria; Canada; Cayman Islands; Chile; China; Colombia; Costa Rica; Croatia; Cyprus; Denmark; Dominican Republic; Ecuador; El Salvador; Estonia; Faroe Islands; Finland; France; French Guiana; Georgia; Germany; Gibraltar; Greece; Greenland; Guadeloupe; Guatemala; Honduras; Hong Kong SAR, China; Hungary; Iceland; Indonesia; Ireland; Israel; Italy; Jamaica; Japan; Jordan; Kazakhstan; Kenya; Kuwait; Latvia; Lesotho; Liechtenstein; Lithuania; Luxembourg; Malta; Martinique; Mauritius; Mexico; Moldova; Morocco; Mozambique; Netherlands; New Zealand; Nicaragua; Norway; Oman; Panama; Peru; Poland; Portugal; Qatar; Réunion; Romania; San Marino; Saudi Arabia; Senegal; Serbia; Singapore; Slovakia; Slovenia; South Africa; South Korea; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland; United Arab Emirates; United Kingdom; United States; Uruguay; Venezuela; Vietnam.

People outside of the United States will have additional fees that PayPal passes through.

Are there any age restrictions?

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Can I control how much is split to who?

Yes. You decide your splits completely. You can split evenly across your whole team, or pay some people more than others. You can even take 0% for yourself.

How many people can I split with?

You can split tips with up to 50 other people.

Can I change the splits at a later time?

Yes. You can change your splits whenever you want. Any changes to splits will affect tips collected after the change.

How do you protect against chargebacks?

Our process for chargebacks is still being refined during early access. It may evolve over time, but our goal is to protect you—and ourselves—from actors in bad faith. Here's what we have today.

First, we want to prevent chargebacks altogether. By checking out, tippers agree to our Terms of Use, that all payments are final, and no refunds or chargebacks will be accepted. This is stated explicitly on the checkout page itself.

Should someone file a chargeback, we'll contact you directly. The refunded amount will be deducted from your account balance, split between your team accordingly. We'll automatically cover 100% of chargeback fees from the payment processor, and for malicious chargebacks, we'll also enter the dispute process for you. Since decisions on disputes ultimately come from payment processors and banks, we can't always guarantee a successful outcome. If successful, we’ll return the deducted amount to you and your team.

To add further protection for you and everyone else on Pally.gg, we're also actively exploring ways to universally ban tippers that file malicious chargebacks from tipping anywhere on Pally.gg.

How does this affect my taxes?

Any tips received through Pally.gg are subject to your local income tax laws, typically if you make above a certain threshold. PayPal will provide any necessary documentation at the beginning of next year if it applies to you.

We send tips to everyone on your team directly, so your team members’ tips are completely separate income from yours. If you're currently sharing your tips with your team, now you can avoid paying them with after-tax money, along with the headache of needing to report their income.

Is my personal info shared with the tipper?

No. Neither your personal info nor your PayPal email address is ever exposed to tippers. This applies to your team as well.

Can I ask a question?

Of course!

Join our Discord server or send us an email and we'll happily answer any questions you have.
